If you would like to support New Norway School's International Travel Club over the summer, please bring your cans & bottles to the New Norway Bottle Depot!  

First day of school for Grades 1 - 12 is Tuesday September 2nd. Classes start at 8:40. Please see here for updated bell times. Kindergarten will have a staggered start on Tuesday, September 9th, with half of the class starting in the morning and half in the afternoon. Mrs. Gutmann/Ms. McLeod will send a parent letter home with more information prior to their start date.  

Bus transportation next school year: if you are an existing 2024-2025 RURAL bus student, you will automatically be assigned a route. If you are a new student (or returning after being away from NNS last year), you will have to apply for transportation at this link. Note that registration is open May 20, 2025 at 9 a.m. to July 2 at 4 p.m. Please note that we are all RURAL bus students at NNS.

• Deadline for transportation applications is July 2, 2025 @ 4 pm. Applications received after this time may not be processed in time for the start of school.
• Rural bussing families will hear directly from their bus driver in mid-August regarding stop times

Battle River School Division is open in the summer; their website is brsd.ab.ca and their phone number is 780-672-6131.

There will be someone in the NNS School office on August 27th.

If calling to register your child for September 2nd, please go online to brsd.ab.ca and register them. Current BRSD students need to inform their previous school to be changed in our system. Students new to BRSD must be registered online. Information on navigating the PowerSchool tool is linked here.  Transportation should also be arranged (see paragraph above).

Supply lists for next year's school supplies can be found at the Families tab of this website. The Parent Council is doing an (optional) fundraiser with SchoolStart.ca and offering bundled supplies delivered to your home over the summer. The company offers an Early Order Prize Draw for orders placed by July 18th. Or, you can buy your own school supplies at a local vendor.
