Christmas Hamper Collections are underway
Our Spartan family is coming together this season to help out local families in need. Each class will be collecting items to create Christmas hampers to give out prior to Christmas Break. Excess items will be donated to the Camrose/Bashaw Food Banks. Students will be collecting items starting Monday, November 28th through until December 15th. We will also be collecting food bank donations at our Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 15th.
Here is a list of suggested items:
-non-perishable food items (soup, pasta, granola bars, fruit cups, crackers, peanut butter, pancake mix,
-Hygiene products (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, toothbrushes, sanitary napkins
-Socks, mittens, toques (must be new)
-Toys, puzzles, games, colouring books (must be new)
Monetary Donations may also be made at our online fees site until December 12th at midnight. Parents of NNS students can choose the donation "item" (just like you order a hot lunch!). Community members can donate by following the "Rycor Guest Sign-in Instructions" link here and choosing the New Norway School Christmas Hampers selection. The money collected will go towards purchasing giftcards to local grocery stores.
With the current cost of living and price of groceries, we understand that Christmas may be a difficult time for some. We are here and happy to help out! Please contact Stacy McLennan or Gwen Brown at the office if you are in need of support or would like to nominate a family for a Christmas hamper.
